Fletcher Eidum’s Artist Statement:
“The featured photos were made on film over the last six years. These
images show the Montana that I have witnessed on my wanderings. Most of
the time I set no specific plan of action. Rather, I open myself to the chance
of witnessing the grandeur and vastness of our state. When I’m out with my
camera searching for moments and scenery, my mind clears and I’m fully
immersed in the creative process.
I develop the film by hand in my home studio and create traditional silver
gelatin prints in my darkroom. With the exception of Posse, which is a
darkroom double exposure using two separate negatives, the prints shown
are scanned directly from the original negatives, printed on canvas and
wrapped by hand on frames I built.”
