Western Cider is proud to host the Missoula Urban Demonstration Project (MUD) for October's GRATEFUL GLASS – our way of contributing to the stewards of our community that we are dedicated to help succeed. Here’s how it works: MUD will receive $1 from every glass sold on every TUESDAY of September. At the end of the month we cut them a check. Simple as that!

This month, MUD will host BINGO on October 8th, 22nd, and 29th with a Tool Librarian Tuesday nights from 7-8pm. You could win big while you sip a cider.

Drink & Draw: BUGS!

The ZACC, the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium, and Western Cider are teaming up to present Drink & Draw Bugs -- a creepy, crawly evening full of art, arachnids, beetles, butterflies, and everything in-between! The Butterfly House is providing live and preserved specimens of different species for observers of any age to sketch and learn about. Handouts describing the critters will be provided, and Insectarium staff will be on hand to answer questions. Ink and pencil sketching, coloring, and drawing materials will be provided for free by the ZACC. Bring your curiosity and let your imagination fly! The ZACC receives a portion of the profit from cider sales during the event, and donations for art supplies are always appreciated.

Drink & Draw: Rocky Horror Show Live!

The ZACC is partnering with Western Cider and Missoula’s favorite annual racy, retro, sci-fi musical, the Rocky Horror Show LIVE at the Wilma, to present Rocky Horror Drink & Draw LIVE at Western Cider. Cast members will model in character for lucky attendees to sketch, with a new session every 30 minutes. Costumes strongly encouraged and Rocky Horror fans of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Our volunteers will be on hand for figure drawing instruction. They are also fabulous dancers if you don’t want to do the Time Warp all by yourself. All art supplies will be free and supplied by the ZACC. The show is generously donating tickets for us to raffle, and the ZACC receives a portion of the profit from cider sales during the event.

Michael Billingsley, the Poor Farmer himself, will be guiding this Montana Cider Week tasting of 6 different McIntosh ciders sourced from the valleys of Western Montanan. The Montana McIntosh apple is known in the cider industry for its unique flavor and its sweet, bright juice. We will be tasting the apples from five orchards spanning across the Bitterroot and up to the Flathead [Swason's, Moss, Moore, Schallenberger, & Browns]. Guests will also be offered the first sips of our Imperial McIntosh, a spiritous and fruity barrel-aged blend of cryoconcentrated McIntosh. Tickets available at the link. To kickoff Montana Cider Week, we are taking our apple pressing to the next level with a competition to see who's the best on a press. Teams of two will be judged on the time it takes to mill, press, and juice apples. Winners walk away with a Western Cider Dream package. Bring your friends and make some wagers. Must be 21+ to enter. Donuts and hot cider for kids and adults.

Join us for an evening of cider pressing, live music, homemade pie, and a community feast at the Moon-Randolph Homestead.

We'll be serving up some hillside fare catered by Burns St. Bistro complete with pulled pork and sauces, potato salad, coleslaw, cornbread. And who can forget the delicious cider provided by our favorite folks over at Western Cider.

Tunes will be ringing through the hillsides from Izaak Opatz and Wailin' Aaron Jennings.

Join us in the cider garden for a family-style barbecue with Western Cider and James Beard-Nominated Chef Jeremy Engebretson of Lilac Restaurant. Chef Jeremy will be roasting the WHOLE HOG from Lower Crossing Farm in St. Ignatius in Western Cider's backyard, and serving it with a mix of classic barbecued meats and sides. The ZACC, Farm Hand Farm, and Western Cider team up to present a stunning, floral still-life Drink & Draw. Urban flower farmer Adelaide Every will bring seasonal arrangements for attendees to sketch or watercolor. Arrangements will be available for purchase at the end of the evening. If you love what you see, you can sign-up for her 2020 Seasonal Flower CSA! Our volunteers will be on hand for art instruction. All art supplies will be free and supplied by the ZACC. Farm Hand Farm is a small urban farm on Missoula's Westside formed in 2017 by Adelaide Gale Every. FHF specializes in seasonal cut flowers and foliage (including a flower CSA), heirloom produce and herbs, as well as botanically based skin care products, created with farm grown ingredients like calendula and comfrey, all while focusing on creating a permaculture habitat and growing with organic practices. Farm Hand Farm also offers seasonal flower wreaths, seeds, transplants, workshops, and floral design work.

Float for the Fork

Join Western Cider, Clark Fork Coalition, and River City Brews Rafting Tours for an evening of floating and cleaning up the river we love. Afterward, we’ll meet up at Western Cider to celebrate clean water and eat food from Madeleine's.

Here are the details:
Meet at Sha-Ron river access in East Missoula at 4PM. Cleanup the beach before floating the Clark Fork. Bring your own watercraft or contact Love Boat Paddle Co. or The Trail Head to arrange a rental.

We will supply latex gloves, bags, and point you in the right direction. If you'd like to bring your own gloves, please, do!

River City Brews Rafting Tours will run shuttle back to Sha Ron in their van (maybe a couple of runs depending on people)

Western Cider, Zootown Arts Community Center, and the ISCSM (Imperial Sovereign Court of the State of Montana) are teaming up to bring you Drag Drink & Draw - a fabulous all-ages event! Members of the ISCSM will be modeling in full drag for lucky attendees to sketch, with a colorful variety of art materials provided for free by the ZACC. ZACC staff and volunteers will be on-hand to assist with drawing techniques. Imperial Sovereign Court Models in attendance will be: Emperor 24 Aidden Bedding, Empress 24 Diana Bourgeois, Outreach Coordinator Sophia Stone Valhallan, and Sasha Fersha.

This event is free and open to everyone. A portion of the night's cider sales will be donated to the ZACC. Don't miss this awesome opportunity to learn, create, and support the ZACC and the ISCSM.

Elk Calling Demo

Join Hellgate Hunters and Anglers at Western Cider for a casual Elk Calling Demo! The Chapin brothers, Austin and Ryan of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, will demonstrate effective elk calling techniques that include using mouth (diaphragm call) and open reeds, and several varieties of cow calls. “Antler Raking” and “Hoof Action” will be part of the show as well. They’ll also discuss effective use of partner calling, ambush set-up, and camouflaging techniques. Bring a friend, bring your kid or spouse and join in on the fun! Free diaphragm calls for anyone wanting to participate! As a bonus, $1 from every glass of cider will support Hellgate Hunters and Anglers Montana Bully Pulpit mission.

Drink & Draw: Your Dream House

Come draw your dream home with Missoula Architecture + Design and the ZACC at Western Cider on June 19th!

Local architecture collective, Missoula Architecture + Design (MA+D), will be leading an architectural drawing workshop where participants are invited to imagine and draw their dream home. MA+D will provide a quick demonstration with tips and techniques for producing plan, elevation, and perspective drawings.
All ages and skill levels are welcome and encouraged to participate. Art supplies freely provided by the Zootown Arts Community Center and MA+D. Design, draw, and drink cider to support art in Missoula.
