Job Description:
This position's main responsibilities are the oversight, organization, and cleanliness of our warehouse, as well as groundskeeping and facility maintenance. Forklift experience is a must. It is vital that all cider and packaging gets rotated on a first in first out basis. The Warehouse Manager must communicate with our distributors in a professional manner to fulfill orders each week. They are responsible for seeing all orders are built and shipped safely and timely. Having a friendly demeanor and good working relationship with the drivers is a must.
Inventory is a primary role for this position. It is their responsibility to ensure accurate weekly counts of all packaged cider, monthly inventory of all storage areas to track packaging supplies and fermentation ingredients, and an annual physical inventory of the entire facility.
Warehousing and inventory is a little over half the total time for this position. Maintenance, groundskeeping, and assisting our packaging team makes up the remainder. During packaging weeks the Warehouse Manager fills in on the canning and bottling line to break people out for lunch. It is also their responsibility to make sure packaging supplies get fed to the line and packaged products get taken away and properly stored.
Western Cider sits on a one acre lot, much of which is landscaped. In the non winter months there is a fair bit of groundskeeping and property cleanup. In the winter, there may be daily snow removal during the week. We have a large building with lots of moving parts. This position is responsible for making sure everything is in working order and presentable; either troubleshooting and fixing problems or scheduling an outside professional.
